Spook-tacular Success: Our First Trunk or Treat in Yuma!

Written By: Mandie Gillmor
🎃 Thank you, Yuma!
Our first-ever Strong Beginnings Project Trunk or Treat was a night to remember! Over 400 children and their families joined us for games, candy, music, and Halloween fun — all made possible by our amazing trunk hosts, donors, community partners, and volunteers.
👻 Thank You to Our Amazing Trunk Hosts
Creative decorations, fun games, and candy galore — our hosts brought the spooky magic to life!
From spooky themes to engaging games, our trunk hosts went above and beyond to make the night memorable. Their creativity and energy lit up the event, giving children and families a safe and fun Halloween experience.
A Record-Breaking Night for Families and Fun
Over 400 kids joined us, and together we raised $1,400 to support children with autism and special needs.
Thanks to your support through activity cards, snack sales, and trunk host fees, The Strong Beginnings Project raised over $1,400! These funds will directly support our mission to provide:
-
Grants and scholarships for therapies
-
Assistive and adaptive devices
-
Sensory equipment
Special Donor Spotlights
Sprouts, Republic Services, and our baking hosts helped make the night extra sweet!
A huge thank you to:
-
Sprouts for donating pumpkins to decorate the event.
-
Republic Services for donating pizzas, chips, and drinks which we sold to raise funds for our mission.
-
Baking hosts for making the cake walk a sweet success!
Our Incredible Community Partners
Yuma Police, Yuma Fire Station 3, and Rural Metro made the night engaging and safe for all!
We are grateful to our community partners who added extra excitement and safety:
-
Yuma Police Department provided fingerprinting for kids and valuable safety engagement.
-
Yuma Fire Department Station 3 Engine Crew and Rural Metro Ambulance Crew gave families the opportunity to explore a fire truck and ambulance up close, creating memorable hands-on experiences.
Thank You to Our Volunteers
Strong Beginnings, LLC staff and family members helped the night run smoothly — we couldn’t have done it without you!
A big shoutout to our staff for volunteering their time and energy to ensure the event ran smoothly. Your hard work behind the scenes made all the difference!
