The Strong Beginnings Autism Walk is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to see our community come together for this amazing event. Whether you’re walking to support a loved one, raise awareness, or just enjoy a meaningful morning with family and friends, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
What To Know Before You Go: Autism Walk Essentials
Event Details
📍 Location: Gateway Park, E 1st St & S Gila St, 250 Prison Hill Rd, Yuma, AZ 85364
📅 Date: Saturday, April 11, 2026
🕗 Check-in Begins: 8:00 AM
🚶 Walk Begins: 9:00 AM
Check-In & Registration
- If you pre-registered online, please check in at the registration table.
- If you are registering the day of the event, please go to the “Register Here” line at the registration table.
T-Shirts

👕 Event T-shirts are available for purchase at the Strong Beginnings Project tent for $10 while supplies last.
- 🛍️ If you pre-purchased a shirt online, please check in first, then head to the Strong Beginnings Project table to pick up your shirt.
- 🎁 Any remaining shirts will be given away as giveaways near the end of the event.
🚗 Parking & Drop-Off

⚠️ Parking at Gateway Park is very limited. Once full, the lot will be used as a drop-off zone only for individuals with disabilities, strollers, or mobility needs.

🅿️ Alternative Parking Options:
✔️ Downtown Yuma: Public parking spots available with a short walk to the event.
✔️ Overflow Parking: Approved by the City of Yuma at 1st St & 4th Ave (dirt lot across from the county detention center).-
Use the paved walking path behind the dirt lot to access the park.

For accessible entry, continue along the sidewalk to the main park entrance.
- Parking is NOT approved at Pivot Point side lot above the park stairs. Please do not park in this lot.

What To Bring

Sunscreen, hats, and water – It’s going to be a beautiful but warm day!

A sack lunch if you’d like to bring your own food.

Cash or digital payment for raffle tickets and food vendors.
Raffles and Prizes
- Tickets: $1 each OR $20 for a bundle of 25 tickets.
- Cash and digital payments will be accepted at the event.
