This past April, more than 1,400 people came together at Gateway Park for the 2025 Walk for Autism — our largest and most impactful event yet. Families, friends, local businesses, and community partners all showed up to raise awareness, build connection, and celebrate inclusion.
Now, we’re getting ready to go even bigger. The 2026 Walk for Autism is already in the works, and we’re inviting you to be part of something truly powerful.
This annual event brings the community together in support of advocacy, awareness, and inclusion. From the 5K along the Colorado River to a park full of resources, vendors, food, face painting, sensory-friendly stations, and community partners, this is a day of unity, joy, and impact for Yuma.
We’re planning more booths, more activities, and more ways to support families with autism and special needs in our area and we want you there with us.

Our peer-to-peer fundraising campaign gives individuals an easy way to support local families while helping strengthen the Autism Walk, our largest annual fundraiser. By fundraising ahead of the walk, you help increase our grant capacity and allow us to provide meaningful support to families throughout the year—not just on event day.
Every participant fundraises as an individual using a personalized fundraising page. Donations made through your link directly support The Strong Beginnings Project’s mission to provide grants, therapy assistance, adaptive equipment, and community programs for children with autism and other special needs.
