What We Do
The Strong Beginnings Project is proud to offer limited financial assistance to help families access the care and tools their children need. Whether you’re seeking support for therapy, assistive devices, a specialized car seat, or travel costs for diagnostic services, we’re here to help when other funding options fall short.
All applications are reviewed by our board in accordance with our nonprofit bylaws. Funds are granted as available and may be paid directly to a provider or reimbursed to the applicant, depending on the type of request.

Application Process
When & How To Apply
Applications for financial assistance are only accepted during specific open periods, as listed on this page. For 2025, the application window will be August 1–31.
Once the application period closes, all submissions are carefully reviewed by The Strong Beginnings Project’s Board of Directors. Decisions are made in alignment with our nonprofit bylaws and available funding.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome within 1–2 months of the application deadline via the email provided on their form.
Be sure to complete your application fully and include all required documentation to help avoid delays.

What type of support can I apply for?
We offer financial assistance for:

Each request must be clearly described and include cost estimates or invoices.
When can I apply?
Applications are accepted only during open funding windows. The next window is August 1–31, 2025.

How will I know if I am approved?
After the application period ends, our board reviews all submissions. You’ll be notified of the decision by email within 1–2 months of the closing date.
How are funds distributed?
Funds may be:

Paid directly to a provider (e.g., therapy clinic, equipment vendor)

Reimbursed to the applicant for approved out-of-pocket expenses
Receipts or invoices are required for therapy services or travel before any payment is made.
Prescriptions are required for certain devices and adaptive car seats.
Devices will be purchased by The Strong Beginnings Project and distributed to recipients.
What if I am missing documentation?
Incomplete applications may result in a delay or denial of funding. Please gather all necessary documents before submitting. If we need additional information, we’ll reach out by email.
Do I have to agree to be featured in a story or social media post?
No. We include an optional media release form for families who want to share their experience, but your decision will not affect your eligibility for funding.

From time to time, we spotlight the stories of families we’ve supported to help raise awareness and inspire others to get involved. Being “featured” might include sharing your story or photos in our social media posts, newsletters, website, or fundraising campaigns.
